The ID project I intend to design is relevant to all of the ACE sites and staff because not only is it familiarizing the staff with a new form of technology it is also educating staff members on techniques and information needed for the position they hold with in the program. Also it will be a new form of training/learning for the staff. Once a month all campuses meet for a group training at a specific location. In these meeting the project director which is my boss teaches us different methods to maintain control in the classroom, get participation from students that may not be interested, deal with behavior and create lesson planning. All of our trainings go in a website used by the district called euphoria which has different workshops and training within the district. The project director places those on there for a paper trail of the training that each employee has undergone so it will help in future career advancement. The problem that has arisen is that some staff members are not gaining what they should from the trainings because the issues and problems voiced during our meetings are areas in which we have been given training. By creating this voice thread there will be an additional form of accountability established for the comprehension of the material and what is expected of them. The voice thread allows you to record your voice or type a response on slides when questions are asked. This will allow the Project Director and the site coordinators to have a way to monitor the comprehension of the aides in the program. In the monthly training everyone appears to understand but goes back to their programs and the new techniques are never implemented properly or at all. For example to maintain classroom management teachers and aides are instructed to use CHAMPS. C-Conversation is the level of talking that is allowed during the time of the activity. H-Help: raise your hand if your need help do not yell out. A-Activity: the instructor goes over the activity that the class will be engaging in. M- Materials: the instructor tells students what materials are needed and disperses those materials. P-Participation: the instructor tells everyone they are encouraged to participate. S-Success: the instructor assures the class that he or she expects a successful activity. Each person does not have to break down the champs in that order but if you tell children what is expected of them they are more likely to perform the desired expectation. We know this is not being implemented because the numbers of referrals the aides are writing and the reasoning behind them. I know the project director would support this idea because this will give us an opportunity to make contact with the aids more often than once a month to ensure that the program is ran more efficiently. Given that voice thread requires only a computer and internet access, the learning environment will be an exact replica of the intended work site.
My ID project will be to develop a way to instruct my colleagues to use the voice thread to train their staff on procedures such as fire drills, lock down drills, class room management and intentional activity planning. The purpose of using voice thread will be so that the staff may ask questions on different portions of the training which will, in turn, be addressed for everyone. My project Director assigns books for the staff to study. Therefore I will instruct them how to us the voice thread to review the book and to ask questions. My project will be used to instruct each site throughout Greenville ISD so that each coordinator will be fully educated of the application and its function. This will not be a problem with resources or accessibility because each site has computer access and internet access which are the only necessary resources. This is an instructional problem because all seven coordinators are not familiar with this technology and there has been no uniform implement...
